Why I started an insulation business
I grew up on a family farm, where if something broke you fixed it yourself, because nobody was driving out to do it for you. I learned insulation on other people's crews, and in 2017 I started this business here in Tallahassee. Most of our calls still sound the same. The upstairs won't cool down, the room over the garage is miserable, or the power bill keeps creeping up. Property managers call when a building needs the job planned out properly.
Here's what I care about. Insulation laid over a roof leak or a damp crawl space just hides the problem, and a fresh coat of paint never fixed a sagging barn roof. So I'd rather show you what's wrong than sell you more material, and when we're done you'll know what we did and why. You'll find all the work we do on our home page.

What you can count on when we come out
We fix what's underneath first
Before anything new goes in, we look for roof leaks, damp spots and old insulation that's soaked or full of droppings, because new material over that just keeps the problem. If something needs fixing, I'll show it to you before we talk about insulation.
The person who quotes it checks it
I come out myself, look at your home in person and write the estimate, so your number comes from someone who has actually been in your attic. Our own crew does the install, and I check the work before we call it done.
We'll say so when less will do
Plenty of attics don't need a tear-out, just the gaps sealed around lights, pipes and the hatch and more blown-in, which is loose fill blown through a hose, added on top of what's there. Foam costs more and seals air as it insulates, so I usually only steer you toward it when the ductwork lives up in the attic.
Foam jobs planned around your family
Spray foam means the household clears out for a while, so we work out ahead of time where everyone will stay and when it's okay to come back inside. If someone in the house has a health concern, tell me at the estimate and we'll plan around it.
Licenses, insurance and permits
Serving Tallahassee and 3 surrounding cities
Licensed and insured
Licensed and insured. The City of Tallahassee doesn't require or issue business licenses, though county, state or federal agencies may require one, so ask any contractor what they carry and who it's from. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job.
Permits inside or outside the city limits
Inside the city limits, the city's Building Inspection Division issues permits, and repairs or alterations costing more than $7,500 in labor and materials need one, as does adding, removing or repairing a wall or replacing a window or door. We find out whether your address is in the city or out, check with the office that covers it and handle the paperwork when the job needs one.
Where we work
RightFit Tallahassee Insulation Services is based in Tallahassee, Florida, and the 4 cities listed here, including Bradfordville and Crawfordville, are the ones with their own page on this site. They aren't the only places we go, so if you don't see your city, call (850) 222-9906 or use our contact page and ask. We reply within one business day.
